這是購得鐵藝門后最先要注意到的一點，鐵藝門在搬運過程中應小心輕放，放置鐵藝門的地方應是硬物不常碰到的地方，地方一經選定，就不應頻繁變動，安裝鐵藝門的墻面還應保持平整，使鐵藝門安裝安穩、平實，若搖晃不穩，日久會使鐵藝門產生輕微變形，影響鐵藝門的使用壽命。

鐵藝門應安裝在比較通風的地方，潮濕會使金屬過早出現銹蝕，鍍鉻產生脫膜等，影響門的使用。如逢大霧天氣，應用干棉布擦拭鐵藝上的水珠。若逢雨天，應于雨停后及時把水珠擦干。

如果鐵藝大門生了銹，不要自作主張用砂紙打磨。銹跡較小較淺的，可用棉紗蘸機油涂于銹處，稍候片刻，用布揩擦便可消除銹跡。若銹跡已經擴大變重，則應請有關技術人員來維修。
